In tectonics, a convergent boundary is an actively deforming region, where plates move toward each other and collide. Below is an example of a convergent boundary.
When two tectonic plates collide they have a chance of doing one of two things. Making a mountain range, or forming a seduction zone. An example of a subduction zone is displayed in the picture above. An example of how a mountain range forms is shown below.
